There are two ways to connect the buried rubber waterstop


There are two methods for buried rubber waterstop joints: one is to use adhesive for cold joint, and the other is to use hot vulcanization mold to weld joints.


Adhesive cold bonding is the use of special cold bonding glue for rubber waterstops, and the lap joint method is used to smooth the section of the waterstop for 5-10 cm with a grinder, and then apply glue to compact it. It has high strength, The advantages of fast solidification, convenient construction, time-saving and labor-saving, can meet general engineering quality requirements.


The on-site thermal vulcanization joint uses the thermal vulcanization mold and the raw film matched with the waterstop to be vulcanized on-site. The construction is difficult, but the joint effect is ideal, and it is suitable for projects that require strict engineering quality.


The steps of the hot melt welding joint of rubber waterstop are as follows:




The first step: first prepare the hot vulcanization compound welding equipment needed for the rubber waterstop joint.

The second step: turn on the power 30 minutes in advance to preheat the hot melt welder, the preheating temperature should reach 130~150℃.

The third step: cut the waterstop joints neatly, and polish the end with a grinder, the width is not less than 5cm.

Step 4: Cut 10cm wide raw rubber connecting strip and 1cm wide raw rubber connecting strip respectively.
Step 5: Unplug the power supply, turn off the preheating welder, and lay the waterstop joint on the bottom plate of the welder.
Step 6: Put the 1cm wide raw rubber connecting strip in the middle of the seam. Then spread the 10cm wide raw rubber helper strip on the polished surface of the waterstop to ensure that the width of both sides of the joint is equal.
Step 7: Close the hot melt machine and tighten the bolts. After turning on the power for 5 minutes, tighten the bolts again to pressurize (two people do not move), continue to heat for 5 minutes, turn off the power and the welding is over.

Next step: After the hot-melt welder cools for 20 minutes, take out the water stop and conduct a visual inspection of the welding. Only after it is qualified, the installation can be carried out.
