The block diagram of the internal structure of the UM5100 speech synthesis chip consists of a continuously variable slope incremental modulation (CVSD) data modulator, an address signal generator for the address bus (A0~Al4), a three-state data bus buffer, and a working mode control interface circuit , Serial/parallel bidirectional converter, clock oscillator, control circuit, frequency divider and other parts. UM5100 can be connected with 256k bit EPROM or RAM, as long as the digital line, address line, read and write signal line of UM5100 are connected to the memory. When EPROM is selected, only sound can be played, not recording. The UM5100 application system is shown in the figure below. It is mainly composed of UM5100, memory 6264, low-pass filter and amplifier, audio amplifier, speaker and microphone. The LM324 four operational amplifier is used to realize the amplification of the regenerated signal, low-pass filter and so on.
