Edison Optoelectronics becomes Taiwan's first TAF certification laboratory

Edison Optoelectronics Lab became Taiwan's first LED manufacturer's LED-based IES LM-80 ( Lumen Maintenance Rate), certified by the National Certification Foundation (TAF) and officially recognized as the US Energy Star by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR's test lab, an LED manufacturer that performs IES LM-80 testing.

According to Sheng Nianbo, manager of the National Certification Foundation (TAF), TAF has assisted and certified many 3rd party independent optics since ENERGY STAR listed LED lighting as an indicator of energy-saving products. The test laboratory became a test laboratory approved by the US Energy Star Program. But as a manufacturer of LED lighting products, Edison Optoelectronics is Taiwan's first Tat-certified 1st party testing laboratory approved by the US Energy Star Program. Obviously, the quality control and testing technology of domestic LED manufacturers is trusted by the US Energy Star program. In the future, the IES LM-80 report issued by Alpha Optoelectronics will be directly approved by Energy Star and referenced in LED products. It is helpful to assist Taiwan LED lighting products to enter the North American market.

The IES LM-80 6,000-hour light decay test report must be made for the LED package /module/array in the US ENERGY STAR Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Lamps and Light Sources Specification. From April 1, 2012 will be mandatory, because the verification time of the project must be carried out for 8 to 9 months. After this specification goes on the road, it is speculated that future lighting manufacturers in the North American market will give priority to procurement through IES LM-80 verification. LED. At present, the world's international lighting companies such as the European Philips , Osram , the United States Department of singular and so have this energy, and Edison Optoelectronics also promote this level of supply chain and layout of the North American market.

At present, LED lamps / components are in a price war to be able to stand out and sold at a high unit price.
