Recently, Gembird Europe BV, a European computer related product manufacturer, launched an EnerGenie LED bulb , which is claimed to be the most efficient LED lamp in the world. With a luminous efficacy of 135 lumens per watt, the EnerGenie LED has a CRI of 85 (up to 92) and an illumination angle of 330°. It also has the longest life ever.
Gembird Europe BV claims that EnerGenie LED is a revolutionary LED bulb derived from its unique heat pipe design (patent pending). Heat pipes are a common cooling tool in the CPU of a computer, but have never been applied to LED bulbs before. The biggest problem with traditional LED bulbs is heat. Heating not only reduces the overall performance of the bulb, but also causes long-term degradation of the LED until the bulb fails completely. The company applied the heat dissipation method in the CPU to the LED bulb, which effectively solved the heat dissipation problem of the LED. Extends the life of the LED bulb.
Most of the LED bulbs fail because heat penetrates into the drive. In a conventional LED lamp, the driver is next to the heat source, that is, the LED. Excessive heat easily causes the electrolytic capacitor inside the driver to dry up, causing the lamp to malfunction. In the EnerGenie LED, the driver and LED are separated by a heat pipe, so it is almost impossible to malfunction due to heat.

The EnerGenie LED is housed in a 3D mounting style that illuminates a wider range and has an illumination angle of 330° compared to a two-dimensional installation of a conventional LED bulb. The EnerGenie LED is dimmable and has a color temperature of 2700K (warm light) and 4000K (white neutral light). EnerGenie LED is divided into three types according to power: 8W, luminous flux is 1080 lumens, can replace 70-watt incandescent lamp; 10W, luminous flux is 1350 lumens, can replace 85-watt incandescent lamp; 12W, luminous flux is 1600 lumens, can be replaced 100 watt incandescent lamp.
EnerGenie LED has been extensively tested for more than one year and is expected to begin mass production in January 2014. By March 2014 it will be UL/ETL/CE certified.
