The hose is easy to give effect sometimes cheap, dirty impression.

So I'd like to try it out and combine the hose with the hard tube. At the same time, it shows the masculine of the tube and the feminineness of the hose. Of course, the more important purpose is to achieve a good YY effect on the basis of reducing the difficulty of installation.

Although the water cooling effect has nothing to do with the air duct of the chassis, the design of the waterway basically depends on the chassis. Therefore, to install water cooling, you must first investigate the chassis.


I finally decided to use the fresh product: Masterbox5 to try the water-cooled installation. Because I myself saw the structure of this chassis, in the middle of the tower is still very suitable for water-cooled chassis.


Let's study the chassis first: The front panel is a large-area heat dissipation hole. The traditional hole flow is also made of dust; the side penetration area is also very large.

The cooling holes at the top of the chassis support fans of 12cm and 14cm, which seem to support 20cm. However, there is no air filter, and it seems to be relatively low. Comes with 2 sets of 3.5-inch disk shelves, each with 2 disk shelves, the chassis itself supports 4 groups. If you want to install a CD-ROM drive, you need to purchase a CD-ROM drive separately.

The front panel can be equipped with a variety of cold rows, including 120/240/280/360, and this part of the space is relatively large, the chassis hardware structure is concave, the panel shell is convex, thin row and normal fan can be put directly Go in, do not need to occupy the space in the chassis again.

In front of the cold row can not be installed inside the chassis, installed inside the dust-proof net just, but there is no headroom, it is recommended that the manufacturers still give a margin of about 5mm is better.


Therefore, only fans with thin rows and normal thickness can be used. Of course, the thick row can be installed inside the chassis (or the fan is installed inside).

Front mounted 240 cold row

Internal 120 cold row installation, choose to install the top of the chassis, if you install 140 cold row, and motherboard cpu power lines, memory, etc. conflict.


240+120 for my single u single card is quite enough, if the platform heat is relatively large, you can also install a 120 cold row, plus the front support up to 360 cold row, Masterbox5 can support up to 360 +120 +120 cold Row specifications.

Why don't I put the 240 cold pack inside the chassis, because I want to install more disk shelves.


Now many chassis design front space is relatively large, you can easily install water cooling, but the number of hard disk support installation is relatively small, usually two. Do not put 240 cold row inside the chassis, in addition to a relatively short water tank, can be installed in the box5 2 sets of 4 hard drives, leaving room for future sisters and teachers.

In fact, the BOX5 is still very water-cooled design, even if you do not use my installation method has other options.

The installation of the waterway is started below. In the foregoing, the combination of using a hose and a rigid pipe was mentioned: the rear part is a rigid pipe (outer diameter: 16mm), which is bent at 90 degrees. Here is the only pipe that needs bending. Place; use a hose (3 minutes thick) in front to connect the cold row and the tank. The connections used are all fast.

The waterway was connected and water was applied: A total of 3 hard tubes (a 90 degree bend, the other 2 straight tubes) and 4 lengths of hose were used.


Waterway: water tank pump ----- graphics cold head ----- top 120 cold row ----- cpu cold head -----240 cold row ----- water tank water pump, very traditional series design .


There are two sections of the waterway through the 90-degree elbow to switch the hose and hard tube, of course, this part of the transfer may cause increased water resistance, loss of performance, slower flow rate.


I think that the difficulty of installation and the amount of work will be greatly reduced. Newcomers will be able to complete it. The ultimate result should be better than a full hose.

1) Pipes should be straight as far as possible, or only one bend should be 90 degrees to minimize the amount of work.


2) The hose should be as short as possible. Do not feel dragging. Try to get a curved curve. The visual effect will be better.
