Toshiba's lighting business, Toshiba Lighting & Technology (hereinafter referred to as Toshiba Lightech), discontinued 103 incandescent bulbs that could be replaced by ball-type LED lighting or ball-type fluorescent lamps on March 17, 2010. However, Toshiba Lightech will continue to mass produce some incandescent bulbs because of the fact that electric ball type LED lighting or electric bulb type fluorescent lamps have not completely replaced the special-purpose incandescent bulbs.
Toshiba Lightech discontinued 103 incandescent bulb products. This move can be seen as a match with the Japanese government's policy of discontinuing the incandescent bulbs before the end of 2012. However, compared with other Japanese lighting manufacturers, most of them are scheduled to stop producing incandescent bulbs in 2012, and Toshiba Lightech can still be seen. Actively develop the determination of environmentally friendly lighting such as electric ball type LED lighting.
Not only that, Toshiba Lightech has set its strategy for electric ball type LED lighting products, and plans to divide into three major spindles: High Specification, Variation and Standard. Among them, high specification emphasizes illumination. The efficiency reaches the highest level in the industry; the difference type is mainly based on the concept of E17 lamp head and dimming; the general type is based on the concept of parity.
Toshiba Lightech has launched E17 3.4W mini-battery LED lighting, which is a differentiated product, and E26 6.4W / 4.6W general electric ball, which is a general-purpose product, since its beginning of 2010. LED lighting to enrich its lineup of electric ball LED lighting products.
In addition, Toshiba Lightech is optimistic that Japanese electric ball LED lighting is expected to accelerate its popularity. It has revised its forecast for the Japanese telescopic LED lighting market in 2010~2012, and expects that the number of LED lighting in Japan will account for the overall lighting market in Japan in 2015. The proportion will continue to rise to over 80%.
Japan's electric ball LED lighting, fluorescent lamps and incandescent bulbs market changes from 2009 to 2015

Note: Both the ball type LED lighting and the electric ball type fluorescent lamp are energy saving light bulbs.
