According to Opto Diode Corporation, a global supplier of advanced, high-reliability photodiodes, visible and infrared lamps announced that a new OD-624L high-output red LED has been introduced, the second being launched by Opto Diode. It is a high-output LED product with an emission wavelength of 624 nm (typical) and a narrow beam angle for applications in fluorescent medical, scientific test instruments and forensics.

The total output power of the new lighting range is from 80 milliwatts (minimum) to 170 milliwatts (typical). Depending on the test conditions or when LF = 350 mA, the peak wavelength of the emission is typically 635 nm and the half width of the spectrum is 40 nm.

Opto Diode also said that the high-output red LED is sealed in the TO5 of the three wires. At a maximum absolute temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, the continuous forward rated current is 500 mA and the reverse voltage is 10V.

The soldering temperature of 260 degrees Celsius makes the design of the LED simpler and easier to install in new and/or existing lighting systems. Storage and operating temperatures range from -55 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees Celsius with a maximum junction temperature of 115 degrees Celsius.
