Because the programmable controller has valuable features (such as variable control program, good flexibility; easy to program with process-oriented language; perfect function; convenient expansion, flexible configuration; simple system configuration, convenient installation and debugging; reliable It is an indispensable part of the CNC device. There are two types of programmable controllers used in CNC machine tools, namely built-in PLCs and stand-alone PLCs. The characteristics of the built-in PLC are: (1) The performance index is determined by the performance specifications of the associated CNC device. Its hardware and software are designed as the basic functions of the CNC device, which has the advantages of compact structure and strong adaptability. (2) It has two types of microprocessors and a dedicated microprocessor shared with the CNC. The former uses the residual power of the CNC microprocessor to complete the functions of the PLC, and the number of I/O points is small; the latter has an independent microprocessor, and is often used in applications where the sequence program is complicated and the motion speed is fast. (3) It is installed in a chassis together with other CNC circuits, sharing a power supply and ground. (4) Its hardware circuit can be fabricated on the same printed circuit board as other CNC circuits, or it can be made into an additional printed circuit board. (5) It does not have a separately configured I/O interface circuit, but uses the I/O interface circuit of the CNC device itself. (6) The built-in PLC is used to expand the window communication function directly processed by the CNC. It can use the ladder editing and transmission advanced control functions, and the cost is low, which improves the performance/price ratio of the CNC. The characteristics of the stand-alone PLC are: (1) It can be flexibly purchased or developed according to the requirements of the control functions of CNC machine tools. (2) It has its own I/O interface circuit. The connection between PLC and CNC device, PLC and machine side is connected by I/O interface circuit. The PLC itself has a modular structure and is housed in a plug-in cage. The number of I/O points can be flexibly configured through the addition and subtraction of I/O modules or boards. (3) The control function of the CNC can be expanded, and two or more additional axis controls can be formed. (4) The performance/price ratio is not as good as the built-in PLC.
